The coronavirus and the disease it causes, COVID-19, are still with us — and possibly for a long time. Yet after months of careful lockdowns, California is slowly reopening. Many businesses are allowed to operate and accept customers again, including beauty and self-care services like medical spas.
Still, you might wonder, is it safe to get treatments like Botox®, lip fillers, and platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) therapy? Rest assured, Donald Lee, DO, and our experienced team of medical professionals at Biz MedSpa in Fremont, California, have always had your safety as our first priority. Here’s what you need to know about medical spas, and why Biz MedSpa is your smartest — and safest — choice for feeling and looking your best in these uncertain times.
Dr. Lee is an osteopath who holds current state medical licenses and certifications from the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Occupational Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board as a family physician. As a medical professional, Dr. Lee ensures that every aspect of your visit and care at Biz MedSpa is sanitary and safe. Our medical spa staff is also already practiced in state-of-the-art sanitation and sterilization procedures.
We schedule our appointments far enough apart so that you’re never closer than six feet to another patient. All of our staff, including Dr. Lee, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as disposable masks, gloves, and gowns.
We also ask that you and all patients wear a mask or other face-covering before we admit you to the BizMed Spa. Once you’re in a treatment room, you may remove the mask if your face or lips are being treated. You’ll notice that Dr. Lee and our aestheticians take the extra precaution of wearing a clear acrylic face shield, too.
Your treatment room is sanitized and disinfected before you enter and after you leave. Many treatment tools at our medical spa, such as syringes, are single-use only.
For tools that are used more than once, we always thoroughly sterilize them in an autoclave before they’re used again. An autoclave kills bacteria, viruses, and mold spores with pressured steam that reaches temperatures of up to 270 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes or more. We also sanitize the restrooms after each use.
As soon as you enter our offices, we ask you to clean your hands with hand sanitizer. We then take your temperature to be sure that you don’t have a fever. We also ask you a series of questions about symptoms and your recent travel history, to evaluate whether or not you might be infected with the coronavirus.
Dr. Lee and the staff check their own temperatures before the start of each day. If anyone feels ill, they stay home, and we encourage you to do the same. Reschedule your appointment if you have symptoms of COVID-19, such as:
If you think you have COVID-19, contact your insurance company or community clinic to arrange for a test.
Once you’re in your treatment room, you can feel confident that you’re in good (experienced, sanitary, gloved) hands. Dr. Lee is prepared to help you look and feel better with a full range of medical spa services, including:
